O’s Notes: Drummer, composer Sinclair Lott leads a polished quartet with Bob Sheppard on sax, pianist Tiguan Hamasyan and Danny McKay on bass. The groove is deep on “Checkered Past” and savory on “A Night In Tunisia”. We also enjoyed the peaceful flow on “Dawning” featuring Sheppard and the bouncy interplay between McKay and Sheppard on “Happy House”. This is a well-balanced straight-ahead set!
