O’s Notes: This is a collection of soulful tracks that all have good rhythms. There are a variety of songs both slow and fast but it’s slanted towards upbeat tunes. The covers of “Round About Midnight” and “Summertime” are uniquely contemporary but remain recognizable. Among the best are “Mannix” by Klement Julienne; the mellow vocals of “Love Shines” by Soulscape and the samba based “I Am With You”. All are injected with a groove from the late 1970s that still feels good and is welcomed today.
