O’s Notes: The title refers to Internet love affairs but Chris Standring is speaking of serious guitar playing with but cool upbeat tunes and romantic ballads. We liked “Have Your Cake And Eat It”, “Liquid Soul” and “Qu’est ce Que Tu Fais?” with Jeff Lorber adding the piano solo. Everette Harp (sax) adds a solo on the opener to round out a balanced contemporary session. Watch out for Chris on the contemporary jazz scene. He’s worth an extended listen.
