O’s Notes: Holly Hofmann plays alto flute, a rare but appreciated voice on the jazz scene. She teams up with bassist John Clayton, Mike Wofford (p), Jeff Hamilton (d) and Anthony Wilson (g on 4 tracks). The music is soft and easy to embrace with a strong program that includes originals by Clayton, Hofmann and Wilson along with five popular covers. Among the best are “Soul-Leo”, “Cedar Would” and “The Very Thought of You” in an enjoyable set.
