O’s Notes: Taj is singing the blues on Maestro, a mixture of both originals and covers. Mahal mixes things up using several different bands. They play a little reggae as well on “Black Man, Brown Man” and Never Let You Go”. But Mahal is best with down home blues like “Strong Man Holler”, “TV Mama”, “Daddy Wah Diddy” and “Slow Draw”. It’s a strong effort
