O’s Notes: Pianist Marlow put together a band, his Heritage Ensemble that has a cool sense of swing especially on tracks like “L’Cha Dodi” and “Hatikva”. Darmon Meader’s work on soprano sax on “Ata Hu Hashim” is very good. The music is a recreation of songs from the Jewish vernacular. Marlow has indeed given them a jazzy flavor and made them his own.
