O’s Notes: This collection captures some of Scott’s best work from1958 – 1964. Shirley plays the B3 with a level of intensity that just won’t quit! Her signature sound comes out strongly on “Caravan”. There are some great vocals from Al Smith – “Night Time Is the Right Time” and Mildred Anderson – “Person To Person” backed by Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis on tenor sax. Davis pops up elsewhere, as does Stanley Turrentine (ts), Shirley’s husband. The feel is soulful, cookin’ and cool. Tap your foot and enjoy it.
