O’s Notes: Mes Illusions brings a different flavor to the standard smooth jazz releases. Bleck’s groove is smooth topped off with warm vocals and some French lyrics. He wrote all of the music, plays keyboards and sings. Even if we didn’t understand the words, the beats are cool and it’s easy to hear the lyrics as scatting. The funky bossa nova of “Mea Culpa” and “Central Park” were our favorites.
