O’s Notes: Voltzok plays a hot trombone and gets down to business quickly showing his chops on the opening title track. Aaron Goldberg (p), Barak Mori (b) and Ali Jackson (d) are right there with him note for note! They play nine tunes over 64+ minutes, a cool mix of originals and covers. Slide Hampton (tb) joins the party for “Con Alma” and “Shawnuff'”, the later a display of well coordinated bones! Antonio Hart (sax) makes a guest appearance on two songs as well. Voltzok displays his passionate side on “Round Midnight” complemented by a rousing piano solo from Goldberg. Mori sets the pace on “Opus de Funk” followed by the Latin vibe of “Duv”. This is a very strong performance all the way around.
