O’s Notes: Bassist J.A. Granelli performs with his band Mr. Lucky. They are Mike Sarin (d), Nate Shaw (organ) Gerald Menke (steel guitar) and Brad Shepik (g). Shepik strikes some rocking blues on his guitar on the opener before they relax into the soothing groove of “Lazy Eye”. This subdued approach is more typical of the session. They also play romantic songs like “My True Love”. But we preferred the driving blues fusion of “The Row Boat Stomp”. These are instrumental blues all centered on the guitar.
