O’s Notes: This phase of Vinny’s Music for Like Instruments focuses on clarinets. Jazz audiences usually place clarinets in a swing band a la Benny Goodman. This is an abrupt change from that thinking as Vinny starts the show with a screaming melody on “Clown Car Syndrome”. He is joined by Andrew Pask, Cory Wright, Jim Sullivan and Brian Walsh to create free flowing collaborations of clarinets and the Taragoto. This is not for all audiences but on target for some, particularly those who like clarinet.
