O’s Notes: Marco has impeccable technique on the flute and uses his native Venezuelan music as a canvas to display his prowess. He not only impresses listeners with his fleeting passages but also plays with feeling as on “Confession a las Estrellas”. Granados is well respected by his peers and leads Un Mundo Ensemble, his band. There is a fleeting exchange with guest trumpeter Francisco Flores on “El Avispero” and again on “El Vuelo de la Mosca” that are world class. This is a different view of Latin American music than what we commonly hear from Brazil, Argentina and the Caribbean.
