O’s Notes: It’s been a long time since we’ve heard from this contemporary sax player but he hasn’t missed a beat! He’s got fresh material, ten strong songs, some originals and some written by Chris “Big Dog” Davis among others. He opens on flute with “Sidewayz” before Will Downing adds his baritone vocals to “3AM” and Najee introduces Sisaundra singing “Emotional”. The best of what we remember of Najee’s signature on Soprano sax is still in tact and well in synch with today’s contemporary jazz sounds.
