O’s Notes: After over 25 years together, the Yellowjackets continue to reinvent themselves. Russell Ferrante (p), Bob Mintzer (sax), Jimmy Haslip (b) and Marcus Baylor (d) light up the stage at Paris’s New Morning Jazz Club during March 2008. This team is very well integrated, a fine quartet that feels the groove together. “Cross Currents” is an excellent example. Seeing is yet another dimension for listeners to engage another sense especially in this Blu-ray format. They played 12 Tunes including a couple of classics like “With These Hands”.
