O’s Notes: Alvin Queen was the drummer for the late Oscar Peterson and this is his second tribute album to his old boss, Night Train To Copenhagen, recorded in Elsinore, Denmark. It is a combination of songs from two of Peterson’s recordings, Night Train and We Get Requests. Queen’s trio puts pianist Calle Brickman in the spotlight along with bassist Tobias Dall Mikkelsen. The program is a collection of ballads, tastefully done, all instrumental, and ready for a relaxed session of listening. Brickman is the center of attention for “Georgia On My Mind”, “C-Jam Blues” and “Bags Groove”, just a sample of the classic titles included.
