O’s Notes: Swedish reedman Anders Hagberg leads a quartet with Johannesburg Lundberg (b), Joona Toivanen (p) and Helge Andreas Norbakken (perc) for North. There’s a calming feel to this music, all originals by Hagberg except for the “Gidda”. We enjoyed the mysterious feeling on “Melodic Modes” and the engaging groove of “Islands of the North”.
