O’s Notes: Nu-Jive 5 is Austrian saxophonist and composer Troy Roberts’ fifth contemporary jazz release and it is solid. The swinging grooves on “Master Ghetto-Rig” and “Mono Stereo” are examples of the blend of old and new that Nu-Jive brings. Take note! The syncopated beats underlie catchy riffs that have all of the sizzle and pop that make this one a winner.
