O’s Notes: Pianist and composer Lisa Hilton was born on the Central Coast of California and has remained in California as a jazz artist. Hilton’s writing is noteworthy and crosses many genres with rich expression.“Oasis“is one of her finest albums to date. The band is a trio with bassist Luques Curtis and drummer Mark Whitfield, Jr. supporting Lisa’s dazzling work on the ivory. The music is original with the exception of a cover of Gershwin’s “Fascinating Rhythm”. “Watercolor World”, “Twists Of Fate” and “Lazy Daisy” are among the best.
