O’s Notes: This is contemporary, fresh, funky, Latin jazz with all of the right flavors. The groove starts with the opener, “Rhythm of the Cane” with a catchy lead line from Chico on sax. The beats are what make this one sizzle with percussion/congas from Pubo Marquez & Chembo Corniel, Avery Sharpe on bass and drummer Terreon Gully. The tracks are fresh with a new feel like the syncopated “El Mensaje” with Spanish guitar and the rap from Akil Dasan on “Business As Usual”. This one is a winner!
