O’s Notes: Michael Bellar plays keyboards, mandolin and percussion. The As-is Ensemble is his trio including Brad Wentworth (d, perc) and Rob Jost (b). Brook Martinez is a guest percussionist. They play eight Bellar compositions, Marley’s “Three Little Birds” and “Voodoo Chile” by Hendrix. In addition to the covers we liked “Gadson” and “Yes Please” in this funky, pop jazz set. They are uninhibited and having fun as suggested by the title: Oh No Oh Wow!
