O’s Notes: The band is a trio with Jörg Brinkmann (cello), Tuur Florizoone (accordion) and leader Eric Vloeimans (trumpet). The accordion gives the music a tango flavor and surprisingly the combination works well to present a swinging, cinematic experience. Much of the music is original with each of the players contributing. There is a lot of old world character in the music and a dramatic feel that bodes well. Recording quality is excellent accentuating a novel effort.
