O’s Notes: Spanish pianist and composer Olivia Perez-Collellmir assembles a fine team of musicians for Olivia, a collection that features her favorite genres combining different singers and instruments to vary the approach. Vocalist Judith Neddermann softens the mood along with the strings on “Combat Del Somni”. We also enjoyed the strings on “Barcelona” with vocalist Loteto de Diego. Olivia makes strong contributions throughout the session notably on the six “Promenade(s)”, as well as “Le Tombeau de Couperin” featuring cellist Naseem Alatrash. Ismael Fernández adds vocalizations on the heavily syncopated “Granada” featuring bassist Fernando Huergo in a session that begs repeated listening.
