O’s Notes: Trombonist Reggie Watkins assembles a formidable band to perform just under 45 minutes of modern jazz. We liked the mellow opener “Shhh” and the racy closer “Hurdles”. In between, Watkins touches various tempos and shades especially on “Sound Judgment”. The brass harmonies are warm and tonally correct making One For Miles One For Maynard a sound encounter.
