O’s Notes: Guitarist Henry Johnson elected to embrace the cool sounds of the Hammond B3 for this session, hence the title, Organic. The man on the B3 is Chris Foreman. Johnson also sings on this outing, not alone but with the beautiful voice of Nancy Wilson on four of the fourteen songs. The other musicians are Greg Rockingham (d) and Peter Roothaan (sax) who add the essential spices to the mix. The recording is analog, no dubs, optimizing instrumental timbre. We miss the warmth of vinyl but this is very nicely done, soulfully sweet and satisfying.
