O’s Notes: Camille Thurman is a fresh saxophone voice on the jazz scene. She weaves her life into the music with eleven original compositions and two covers expressing the full spectrum of emotions. Her rendition of “Jitterbug Waltz” really pops! In addition to sax, Thurman also plays flute and sings/scats on several selections. She enlists support a talented team that includes bassist Corcoran Holt, drummer Rudy Royston and pianist Luis Perdomo. Camille is not afraid to stretch out and take chances as she does on “In Due Time”. The listener is the winner! Producer Mimi Jones seems to be placing her hands on a lot of good material these days and Origins is yet another winner.
