O’s Notes: Ralph has been entertaining jazz fans for over 25 years playing drums and trumpet. This is his fifteenth release as a leader but it’s his debut on Onyx. His experiences as a composer, producer and musician reign supreme. He brings his band, Unity Project featuring Pat Bianchi on the organ, Josh Evans (t) and Jovan Alexandre (sax). The brass laden band really cooks on “Beyond My Wildest Dream” punctuated by Peterson all the way through. It is one of four originals in a set with a club cooking variety. We also enjoyed “We Three Kings”.
