O’s Notes: Teasley is a creative drummer and percussionist. He combines the rhythms of The Caribbean, Brazil, The Middle East and India for eight new originals. This Afro centric vibe is punctuated with syncopated percussive beats and brass accents. The pace is mid-tempo cool for most of the eight songs. It gets a bit funky on “Good Foot Dervish” and on “Snake Charmer” with Bruce Swain (sax) leading the melody. But all the while things are mellow in what turns out to be a great cultural amalgamation.
