O’s Notes: Guitarist Will Bernard opens Party Hats with a funky beat for “Share The Sea” and the groove continues through eleven tracks. He uses several different band formations employing some top shelf brass with Dave Ellis, Cochemea Gastelum and Peter Apfelbaum on sax; Michael Bluestein and Will Blades on organ; with Ryan Newman on bass. Your head will be shaking on the title track, “Leo’s Cat” and the tasty blues of “Chin Up”. Make no mistake about it; Bernard plays a funky guitar. If there’s any question, check out his licks on “Afro Sheen”. This is Will’s debut on Palmetto and he comes in will a bang!
