O’s Notes: Penny Lane is a great collection of Beatles tunes with even better jazz arrangements by guitarist John Basile. Lennon and McCartney provide the core and Basile takes it up a couple of notches. We had to reread the liner notes twice to believe that John performed all instruments through a Midi interface with his guitar! This is digital done well, a rebirth of both technology and classic tunes.
