O’s Notes: Peter (g) grabs some friends and puts together a smooth contemporary jazz album. His friends are among the best in the business with Mindi Abair (vocals and sax), Rick Braun (t and vocals), Rayford Griffin (d and vocals) leading the charge. Special guest Jeffery Osborne sings on “Silent Night” and Brian Bromberg (double bass) accents the bottom on a couple of songs notably “Jingle Jangle Blues”. Mindi does a good job singing “River” with Kevin Wyatt in the background. The mood remains festive throughout the set with lots of variety and new arrangements to freshen up tradition.
