O’s Notes: There’s something unusual going on here and it’s not the music, which is pretty good – there is no pianist. The skill and experience of the quartet playing together makes this potential problem disappear. Joining Virginia on saxophone are Ingrid Jensen (t), Allison Miller (d) and the lone male, Harvey S. on bass. They play a series of eleven standards. The unusual approach holds up all the way through.
