O’s Notes: Saxophonist Darryl Yokley assembles a fine band with Zaccai Curtis (p), Luques Curtis (b), Wayne Smith, Jr. (d) and special guest Nasheet Waits (d). The Pictures at an Art Museum Wind Ensemble adds depth and color to the mix. We liked the dynamics and mysterious groove on “Hunting Natives”, a taste of free jazz on “Genocide March”, and the mellow “First Sunrise” in a symphonic recording.
