O’s Notes: Take natural R&B instrumentation (no sampling); add a dose of soulful vocal harmonies, some funk and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen deliver a great package. Whether they are chillin’ on “Oh No No No” or preaching blues on “Doin Bad Feelin Good”, the groove feels right. We liked the doo-wop of “Best Ain’t Good Enough” which held a tight rhythm without instrumentation. They wrap up the session with a calypso beat on “Zulu Strut” leaving us energized and ready for an encore.
