O’s Notes: Pianist, composer Geoffrey Keezer leads a formidable band with Shedrick Mitchell (B3), Ron Blake (sax), Richie Goods (b) and Kendrick Scott (d) for Playdate. They open with “Refuge” including an orchestra with strings that returns for “Rebah”. We also liked the swinging blues of “I.L.Y.B.D.”, a cool cover of “Tomorrow”, and “M’s Bedtime Blues” featuring Blake. This is a sweet, vinyl-length, 43 minutes of pleasure.
