O’s Notes: Marion starts this CD out with a big bang, really jamming on the opening tracks of the album. Punchy bass from bassist Mel Brown gives it a funky club beat. He then settles down to perform the work of ’Marion-ism’ (smooth jazz) for the rest of the CD. Highlights are a nice cover of “Wishing On A Star”, the Latin flavored “Noche Privada” featuring Chieli Minucci (g) and the radio-ready “Step A Little Closer”. Nice effort.
