O’s Notes: Guitarist Bob DeVos assembles his organ trio with drummer Steve Johns and Dan Kosteinik on the B3. They simmer on “Mojave” and swing on the title track with guest artist Eric Alexander (sax) trading the lead lines with DeVos. While Shifting Sands was released in 2006 it is still fresh, owing to Bob’s unique approach with the organ trio. The program selection includes a good mix of standards and originals at varied tempos. The mid-tempo cover of “Willow Weep For Me” is a great example!
