O’s Notes: It’s been a while since Zonjic has released a CD but he’s been busy performing live, on TV, radio and producing. We quickly realize that he’s maintained his edge and brings a full complement of support on Playing It Forward, a bow to his adopted city of Detroit. Producer Jeff Lorber (keyboards, synth bass, g), Chuck Loeb (g), David Mann (horns) and Paul Jackson, Jr. (g) are among the talented band members. The vibe is strong end to end notably on “Motor City Sway”, “Jazz Cafe”, “Benita”, “Night Crawler” and the title track.
