O’s Notes: The music of the 1960s was great stuff, TV themes, memorable pop, rock and soul tunes. It’s not just that I lived through the period; these songs have been made time and time again delighting audiences for decades. Violinist Mads Tolling tees up 15 classics and does them justice with jazzy arrangements that work even if you’ve never heard the music before. For those of us who have, “Meet The Flintstones”, “My Girl” featuring vocalist Kallick Wilson, “Peter Gunn”, “What A Wonderful World” featuring Kenny Washington singing, and many others are great for reminiscing.““Colin Hogan (keys), Sam Bevan (b), and Eric Garland (d) are the core band members. Tolling melodies are sweet with several guest artists appearing along the way.
