O’s Notes: Jazz guitarist Albare was born in Monaco and grew up in Israel and France. He is a self-taught musician and has lost most of his vision from a genetic illness. Albare now plays entirely by ear. The buttery smooth guitar we hear on these classic Bossa nova tunes are special as Albare Plays Jobim. The addition of strings further enhances the performance. Pianist, string arranger and conductor Joe Chindamo is joined by Ricardo “Ricky” Rodriguez (b), Antonio Sanchez (d) with Albare leading the melodies. Among the best are “Desafinado”, “Chega De Saudade” and “Double Rainbow”.
