O’s Notes: There are an increasing number of women playing drums and Italy’s Cecilia Sanchietti is among the best, also composing music and leading her band on Postcard From Gamla Stan. Simon Westman adds beautiful piano playing with Linus Lindblom on tenor sax and clarinet, anchored by bassist Josef Kallerdahl. Anna Lundqvist layers beautiful vocalizations to balance the tones with the instruments. The music is crisp and engaging, modern jazz led from Sanchietti’s chair.
