O’s Notes: Simon is a drummer and makes his presence felt immediately on “Namada” with pronounced, pulsating beats. Andy Timmons plays guitar along with pianist Steve Weingart and Ernest Tibbs on bass. Together the quartet produces a racy jazz-fusion that is packed with energy. The music was written at different times in different places but it all comes together for Protocol geared towards rock based jazz-fusion and progressive rockers! “Circle Seven” and “You Can’t But You Can” are among the best.
