O’s Notes: Bruce Kaphan plays pedal steel guitar and synth leading his quartet on this pop-laced collection of jazz-fusion. Bruce wrote five of the tunes and electric bassist Jeffrey Wash penned three to go with three covers. We liked the interplay between Bruce and Jeff on “Grapple With The Apple” and the more mellow tunes like “Is Isn’t”. They cast a festive, country bent to the covers. It is a novel approach.
