O’s Notes: Quest of the Big Drum is the sophomore release as a leader by drummer Yonrico Scott. He has years of experience backing up popular acts notably The Derek Trucks Band. Nick Rosen (keyboards) and Joseph Patrick Moore (b, pads, keys) join Scott to collaborate for eight new original songs. The music is dominated by punchy beats and a club like feel. Yonrico adds vocals on a few tracks notably “The Train” but this album is more of an instrumental effort. “Quest” and “Sound of The Drum” are the best of the rest.
