O’s Notes: Mexican, classical, pianist Argentina Duran performs solo on Rapsodia Mexicana, a collection of her takes on various selections, all written by Mexican composers. She opens with a romantic, 4-part suite by Manuel M. Ponce, and goes on to present traditional and more modern selections. Her playing is very dynamic and improvisational making great use of the Yamaha CFX grand piano. The recording was made with Dolby Atmos audio technology resulting in a startling audio experience.
