O’s Notes: Walter opens with a cool cover of “Free” including the background vocals from Tiffany Davis. This man romances, sooths and mesmerizes us with his sax. The primary choice is alto and then soprano sax selectively. We were reminded of Grover on “Sugar Puddin'”. Walter also sings on “Miss You” and “Be Thankful For What You’ve Got” rekindling the relaxed groove on the latter. Beasley keeps his cuts a step above ‘ordinary’ smooth jazz adding soul and lots of variety to the mix.
