O’s Notes: Freddie Hubbard is a well known jazz trumpeter. He got together with Joe Henderson (sax), Lenny White (d), Ron Carter (b) and Herbie Hancock (p) to record Red Clay. The time was January 1970. It’s tough to lose with this lineup and they don’t disappoint us. This is another of the CTI reissues and avian it is a treasure, one of the cornerstones in Freddie’s career. Highlights are “Suite Sioux” and the title track.
