O’s Notes: Renegade Queens is a celebration of the notable contributions of women, Salsa, and Latin Jazz artists in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is the third volume from the band produced by trombonist Wayne Wallace and filmmaker Rita Hargrove. There are nineteen songs over two discs including vocals (in Spanish and English), and instrumentals. Among the best tunes are “Love Walked In”, “Can’t Eat Clout”, “Decca O Amor Florescer” (Let Love Flourish), “La Mensajera”, and “The Peanut Vendor”.
