O’s Notes: Grdina takes us on a symphonic journey with his latest endeavor Resist, or that seems to be the case with the chamber orchestra on the lengthy (23+ minutes) opening title track. Then the mood shifts to a more vibrant exchange led by Gordon and Jon Irabagon (sax) on “Varscona”. Next up is the eerie, mysterious “Resist The Middle” before they wrap up with “Ever Onward” with Grdina playing the Oud. Gordon takes us through multiple genres within each selection showing his creativity and depth with this original music.
