O’s Notes: Las Vegas-based composer, pianist D. Mark Owen is a seasoned studio musician that stepped into the spotlight to release Respite early this year. It is mostly a solo effort with Derek Jones (b) and Cameron Tyler (d) joining Owen on three selections. It is a very relaxing set but not so much as to put you to sleep. There are pockets of energy with rich instrumentals. We liken it to the support for film credits.
