O’s Notes: Guitarist Daryl Stuermer leads a quartet including Kostia (keyboards), Eric Hevey (b) and John Calarco (d). Steurmer also plays bass, keyboards and electronic percussion. Retrofit is nine primarily upbeat tracks, all written and produced by Daryl that flow nicely. “Zanzibar” and “Sharkskin Suit” are among the best. We’d characterize it as smooth fusion with mild hooks.
